Stem Cell Bone Allografts in Maxillary Sinus and Ridge Augmentation, Report of a Case
نویسنده
چکیده
Maxillary sinus and ridge augmentation were performed using the allograft cellular matrix containing live stem cells (Osteocel)*. The results were evaluated via a postoperative Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT) scans and periepical radiographs. The sinus augmentation case was evaluated in 10 weeks in which the radiographic bone tomography was similar to that of the native bone. The ridge augmentation case resulted in a 3-4 mm vertical ridge augmentation. Even though histological examination was lacking, the clinical and radiographic feel of the cases were promising. This presentation will show the clinical and radiographic documentation of both cases in addition to discussing the potential benefits of stem cell bone matrix with its future promises.

Giant cell tumor of maxillary sinus: A case report
Giant cell tumor (GCT) is a benign primary bone neoplasm that usually occurre in the long bones. The skull is affected in only 1% of cases, predominantly in the sphenoid and temporal bones. Maxillary sinus involvement is exceedingly rare. The case is a 26 year-old man presented with history of gradually increasing swelling in the right side of face without any history of trauma or systemic diso...
متن کاملA Two-step Method for the Preparation of Implant Recipient Site in Severe Atrophic Maxilla: A Case Report of the Alveolar Ridge Split Technique Followed by Bone Expansion
Augmentation of deficient and atrophic alveolar ridges is an important aspect of dental implant therapy with the goal of providing a functional restoration in harmony with adjacent natural dentition. Bone splitting technique is considered a distinguished augmentation method for treatment of deficient alveolar ridges. According to this procedure, the compromised alveolar ridge is opened from the...
متن کاملUsing Absorbable Gelatin Sponge to Facilitate Sinus Membrane Elevation during Open Sinus Lift: Technical Notes and Case Series
Ridge atrophy accompanied by the pneumatization of maxillary sinus in the maxillary posterior region may lead to inadequate bone height, thereby precluding implant placement. Therefore, it may be mandatory to perform a sinus membrane elevation procedure and augmentation in the bone. The present study aimed to introduce a novel modification method for sinus floor elevation using a gelatin sponge...

Introduction: Ewing sarcoma (ES), which is described as diffuse endothelioma of the bone, is divided into osseous and extraosseous Ewing sarcoma (EES) mostly affecting children and adolescents. It is a rare, aggressive, and poorly differentiated small blue round cell tumor that seldom affects the head and neck regions. Case Report: Herein, we reported a 46-year-old ma...
متن کاملClinical, histologic, and histomorphometric analyses of regenerated bone in maxillary sinus augmentation using fresh frozen human bone allografts.
BACKGROUND The purpose of the present study was the clinical and the histologic evaluation of fresh frozen human bone (FFB) allografts used for maxillary sinus-augmentation procedures. METHODS Ten subjects were treated with maxillary sinus augmentations using FFB. Radiologic measurements were recorded on computed tomography scans preoperatively and 5 months after the sinus surgeries. At 5 mon...
